My Review...

Just based on the movie itself, and not looking at the context, it was quite good. It had some deep emotions, and it the style was quite artistic. I found some of the animations to be rather repetitive, but since it was such a slow-paced movie I didnt really notice. The music was very mellow and appropriate, also.

Now...since you said you made this for your girlfriend. Ahem, unlike the other posters let me give you a little tip. This movie was gross. You dont say I love you by offering to 'bleed' and showing pictures of a beating heart squirting blood, then splatter it across the screen leaving a big blood stain. Its nasty...and in any case, I dont know what kind of girl would want their boyfriend to make a computer flash movie for them (except maybe the girls you meet on the Internet).

Sorry, it was a great movie, but it really shows a pitiful creature painfully in love willing to do anything for it...thats just not sexy. No sir. :(

Abstract...wonderful!

What did I get from this flash? All the other pool balls, being mass-produced were animals of some sort...seemed be generic representations of all species. The human was unique and was thus being singled out for removal.

The 'factory' represented earth, and its take on the oddity that is humanity. A swift removal of it would be in its best interests, since instead of going with the flow like all the other species, it breaks boundaries and is thus considered a threat.

Plausable? The point of the flash? Who's to know...I'm sure whatever follows will explain your madness behind creating this, but I thought I'd share my own little interpretation. Because of course, that's what abstract art is all about :)

[Revolutionary war]

Loved it!

I loved this stylistic take on the Revolutionary War. The elements were there, and I dont think it really needed to be purely accurate to be effective. In fact, since you used modern themes to portray a historical event, I think your presentation was more effective than if it had been traditional.

I wish we'd had Flash when I was in HS. The most we did was work with an early version of Hypercard.

Interactivity...

I liked the game, I think it has promise. But I really just ended up clicking the "arrow" to progress the long talks they had. Fighting Shadow just resulted in attacking, then using a special "break defense" when he ducks. The second guy was impossible to beat. There were no real options at all, and the fighting menu could have been replaced with a single arrow and I would not have known the difference, since all the fighting options were not available anyway. And I was pretty disappointed that I couldn't use the sword.

I would say this is a good start, perhaps as a demo. But I would work less on the story and more on making it more interactive. I think this is why people are mistaking it for a movie...because aside from clicking where you tell me too, there was no gameplay to it.
